The business is registered at 1700 E 2nd Ave, Tampa, FL 33605; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip. Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8:30 am–5:30 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (813) 605-5500. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, enginelaboftampa.com.

Its Google rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 122 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Tampa is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Tampa follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I had previously taken my Jeep to a national brand auto chain, and they fixed a symptom of the problem and cleared the codes, but my Jeep ran worse than when I took it in. Because my Jeep was no longer throwing any codes they told me there was nothing left that they could do and advised that I take my jeep to an engine shop. Rocket was able to figure out what was wrong, fix the things that the other mechanics got wrong and now my jeep runs great!

Rokket from the engine lab has been so amazing. So extremely professional and what I really like about this shop is that they communicate very very well. Everything's in detail. If you are having issues it definitely helps to send videos so they can either listen or see about what's going on. Definitely send videos and pictures. They've been extremely helpful with me. Very patient. Open, honest and very communicative. They really help me moving forward. I 100% trust getting my vehicle fixed there or service there you know especially for like engine repairs and major work like they know exactly what they're doing. And I don't say that lightly. Everything that I've asked them to do in regards to my vehicle they've been doing it. They show me exactly what the issue is. Nothing is hidden. The prices are reasonable especially considering what you're getting on your vehicle. And yeah I just 100% appreciate them because they've been there's very very few honest mechanics okay. And even fewer in Florida who are honest. And I feel like Rokket and his team are like honest. Very helpful. I feel like even with this review I'm not even giving them enough credit. Because of how amazing they have

Outstanding experience with Rokket’s Engine Lab of Tampa. I couldn’t be happier with the work done here. Rokket runs a professional, trustworthy shop, and Rodney β€” the technician who handled my car β€” did an incredible job. His skill, attention to detail, and clear communication gave me complete confidence from start to finish. What really stood out was their willingness to share their knowledge along the way. Every question was answered clearly, and I walked away not just with a solid build, but also with a better understanding of the process. The quality of the work speaks for itself: smooth, reliable, and done to the highest standard. It’s rare to find a place that combines this level of expertise with genuine pride in their work. If you’re looking for an engine shop in Tampa Bay, I can’t recommend Engine Lab of Tampa Bay enough β€” and if Rodney is the one on your project, you’re in the best possible hands.

I had the team at Engine lab go through the cylinder head of my Euro S50B30. Everyone there was very polite and knowledgeable. I got the head back for less than I was expecting to pay and it looks brand new. I’m very happy with the results considering they were willing to work on an engine that wasn’t available in the United States.

I had the worse experience of my entire life thus far.. I said that I wouldn't write a review, but after what has happened, it would be wrong for me to not warn others... this shop is not well suited to fix anything out of the ORDINARY, I drive an AUDI S4 V8 B7 "somewhat of a special vehicle" I will not write the entire story as it would be half of a book, I will just say this, after paying over $5,000.00 I drove away with a leaking, car, that sustained water damage due to being left outside, the electrical system is now damaged due to the computer getting wet, not to mention, MANY things were not done properly and i'm still paying for them, example, the lining was placed over the ecu, "but the ecu was not screwed in" the cowl was left off as the car was placed outside and unlocked, water flooded the inside of the car, CHECK PHOTOS, the shop lost some of the supplies that I brought in $120 worth of oil, the car was there for almost 6 months, the owner does not take responsibility, I believe at one point it was a good shop, but the new owner is more interested in his own hobbies, did not want to fix what his shop was responsible for, I had faith and hope in the company but they just
